Formed in 1892, Congregation Beth Ahm was established to provide opportunities to explore and practice Judaism in a warm and approachable environment. We continue to fulfill this mission through our core values.

    Jordyn Berke Bat Mitzvah

    Jordyn Leah Berke will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 17th, 2018. Jordyn is the daughter of Kevin and Debbie Berke. Proud grandparents are Kenneth and Nadine Berke and Midge and Jerry Appel. Jordyn is also the granddaughter of the late Lesley Appel. Jordyn is a student at Hillel Day School in Farmington Hills. She enjoys animals, music, shopping, and hanging out with her friends. For her mitzvah project she will be participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

    Meredith Shapiro Bat Mitzvah

    Shabbat, Dec 1st 9:30a to 12:00p
    Meredith Ann Shapiro will become Bat Mitzvah on December 1, 2018. Meredith’s parents, Evan and Sheri Shapiro, and her brother Daniel are so proud of her, as are her grandparents Joan Shapiro and Paul and Rena Gritt. She attends Hillel Day School and loves camp, swimming and performing in musical theatre, dance and stand up comedy. Her mitzvah projects include working with Children’s Hospital of Michigan to support the healing process for sick kids and their families and raising money for Debate It Forward, an education non-profit that promotes healthy discourse, self-confidence and critical thinking in youth through play-based programming.

    Mia Mechnikov Bat Mitzvah

    Mia Mechnikov will become a bat mitzvah on December 8, 2018. Mia is the daughter of Daniella and Igor “Gabe” Mechnikov and sister to Pelli and Lev. She is the grandaughter of proud saba Natan HarPaz, Norma HarPaz z"l and Semën Mechnikov and Ida Mechnikov z"l. Mia is a student at Norup International School. She loves to do karate, be with family, listen to good music and to talk with her good friends. Mia is excited for her bat mitzvah and to continue her Jewish journey. Mia’s mitzvah project came out of her participation in the JARC/7th grade program from Hillel Day School. She found it very meaningful and continues to visit the JARC home she connected with.
