The community is invited to learn online about the history and responsibilities of the Hevra Kadisha with Sarit Wishnevski and Rabbi Jonathan Jaffe Bernhard from Kavod v'Nichum.
January 8: Introduction to Hevra Kadisha – history, evolution, and what it looks like today across different communities
January 15: Taharah – the sacred act of washing, dressing, and preparing a body for burial
January 22: Other rituals and opportunities – shmira, nichum aveilim, and the role of Hevra Kadisha in modern Jewish life
