Small Shul, Big Future

Did you know that Congregation Beth Ahm is one of the few Detroit area synagogues that is growing?  It’s true.  Based on recent demographic studies, the synagogue membership has grown 16% in the last decade.

Strategic plan for the future:  

We have implemented a strategic plan to raise the congregation’s visibility in the broader Jewish community, help us identify and train future leaders of the synagogue, and focus on engaging younger generations.  The results are amazing.  More guests are walking through our doors and are in contact with us through social media, committed leaders comprise our Board and use their passion to advance the congregation, and more young families and children are active in synagogue life.  In fact, almost 30% of our members are under age 25.

Growing endowment:  

Our members believe in the congregation’s mission, and have given generously, over $3 million, to support the strategic plan.  All debt has been retired, the building has been remodeled, and an endowment for the future is growing.  These funds, along with a balanced yearly budget, will sustain the congregation into the future.
