Important! - Beth Ahm Response to the Coronavirus
The Detroit Jewish community has made an unprecedented but necessary decision to limit the spread of the coronavirus; all in-person synagogue activities have been suspended through April 30th.
Congregation Beth Ahm fully supports this decision. We recognize our obligations to be both a center of Jewish life and part of the greater society. The Jewish values of pikuah nefesh (protection of life) and derech eretz (proper behavior) obligate us to follow the recommendations of our national and local health officials and take the following actions.
Effective immediately and through April 30th,

All in-person synagogue activity has been suspended. This includes daily minyan, Shabbat and holiday observances, religious school, adult education, meetings, events, and social programming.

The synagogue staff will continue to have a presence in the building on weekdays to support essential functions. Please call the office at 248-851-6880, as you would normally do to be placed in contact with Rabbi or David, make donations, report illnesses, and ask questions.

In the absence of in-person synagogue experiences, the congregation will be providing ways to engage virtually. Please monitor upcoming communications for learning opportunities, discussion groups, and more.
Congregation Beth Ahm continues to monitor updates from the US Centers for Disease Control and the Oakland County Health Department. As new information becomes available and through consultation with community partners, the congregation will take prudent steps to protect members and guests while still fulfilling its mission of providing opportunities to engage in Jewish life.
