A Taste of Jewish India

Monday, April 15 at 7:30pm

Join Sisterhood in welcoming Ann Arbor author and poet Zilka Joseph, in celebration of the publishing of her most recent book, Sweet Malida-Memories of a Bene Israel Woman. At a private home in West Bloomfield, Sisterhood will host an evening of storytelling, poetry and sharing of recipes Zilka learned while growing up in India. This program is free for Sisterhood members and $10 for guests (payable at the event). Please contact Sharona Shapiro at shapirolerner@gmail.com to register and receive the address for the event. Natan's Story: Search and Rescue in the Aftermath of October 7

Thursday, April 25 at 7:30pm

Natan Neppe is a commander in the IDF Search and Rescue brigade that spent several months in southern Israel retrieving and caring for the bodies of civilians killed during the October 7th attacks. He has a unique story to share with our community—a difficult but touching one about what he saw and how he views the work that he has done. This event is recommended for adults only due to the nature of Natan’s story. Advance registration by April 24 is required (no walk-ins). Click here to register. Book Club: Woman of Valor - Wednesday, May 1 at 7:30pm

The Book Club is open to all in the community to share insights, consider different perspectives, and engage in thought provoking conversations about books that explore Jewish life, history, ideas, struggles, and values. Woman of Valor is a fictional story about the courage to love the ordinary and seek satisfaction where you are, while shedding the need to please others.

Ritual Life at Beth Ahm
